We are officially 25% into 2023. Another 25% and we’ll be halfway into 2023, and then it’s 2024. And so far I haven’t done shit this year to show off. I’m just too unmotivated to do anything worthwhile nowadays lmao

Welp. Here we are again. End of 2022. After like… 365 days. Wow that doesn’t even feel like a year anymore huh. Earlier this year I published an animation about how 2021 went by insanely quickly and now it’s the last day of 2022. Hmm. I guess I achieved some of my plans and goals that I had for this year. I definitely wasn’t as lazy this year as I was last year, I think. I also uploaded like 3 personal animations this year, which is more than the 1 animation I uploaded last year, so that’s kinda cool, and I’ve definitely practiced a few art/animation styles, maybe I‘ve already stuck to one who knows. Kind of a shame I didn’t achieve all of my goals this year, buuuut at the same time I find now that some of the goals I did set here were… quite unrealistic. Oh well.

Ok. Year review. This time I made sure not to procrastinate. Take that 2021 me.

2022. Pretty valid year actually ngl. I’ve for sure seen some improvements in myself this past year. Entered high school into a different “privileged” school after going to the same one from kindergarten until 8th grade so that’s cool ig. Definitely have been more productive educationally and personally, And I joined the Sketch Collab this year and man it was a wild ride from there! While 2022 especially had its ups, it definitely also had its downs, but we won’t dwell on those just for the sake of keeping negativity astray from this post, and also because they’re so minor they’re not even worth emphasizing on anyway.

TL;DR - not doing these anymore if you didn’t read that’s your problem ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Aight. Plans and goals for 2023.

Every December 31st, I set a list of plans and goals for myself with the purpose of aiming to achieve them the next year. This year I’ve got some new goals, some from the previous year that I still aim to obtain today. As yearly, here’s a list of plans and goals for next year, this time they’re more feasible and attainable.

• As previously, get a frontpage on an animation/artwork of mine (collabs or animations I’ve contributed to don’t count)
• As previously, reach 500 fans on NG, and this time hopefully 1000 subscribers on YT (please subscribe I beg of you)
• As previously, upload more frequently, both on NG and YT
• Change my online username to something like STRapper or STRapperMMVIII, likely to happen May 4th (so you can find me more easily, especially on YouTube. Something i’ve been considering for a while)
• Start a new webseries or two, possibly one with a friend ;)
• Practice on music composition (cuz i wanna create actual music, not just basic beats)
• AAAND start a rock band (yea no joke)

Last year I was aiming to achieve at least 3 of 2022’s goals. Here I’m aiming for at least 4. Wish me luck :)

Well, as mentioned, entered high school into a new school, and participated in this year’s Sketch Collab. BUT I’ve also been experimenting a lil with GarageBand lately. Not the best app for creating music imo but it’ll do for now.

I also got a new mic this Christmas (it’s a Blue Snowball btw), so expect to hear my voice in higher quality in my future animations.

And to those of you that saw my latest animation Derek’s Doritos, I’ve noticed a lot of you guys seemed to really like it! I really appreciate your guys’ support, and I'm planning to make more with these characters so be on the lookout for that!

In conclusion…

2022. Pretty damn good year! Even though I didn’t do everything I had planned for this year, it was still definitely one of the better years, and as always I cannot thank you guys, my fans, friends, and family enough for helping 2022 as great of a year as it was for me. You guys will always be my motivation to keep aspiring for greatness.

Here’s to 2023 hopefully being my year! Love y’all, peace.

So since I’m getting a bit more traction this time around after the masterpiece that is the Sketch Collab of 2022, I thought I should introduce myself to y’all newcomers.

I’m Steve Santos, and I’m an aspiring artist, animator, voice actor, and musician, though you’ll mostly see artworks and animations I make here.

Been on NG since I was 10. Not to say I’m too proud of that but just felt like pointing that out. I’m 14 as of writing this.

And being that I’ve been here for the past like, third of my life I’ve had quite a few experiences in my time here. But we definitely do not talk about my 10 year old self.

I’ve been animating for half my life, if my earlier shitty slideshows can pass themselves off as “animations.” Otherwise I’ve been animating for real since 2018. I’ve also been drawing for a lot longer, and I gotta say I’m pretty damn proud of how far I’ve come up to this point, though no doubt a lot of people my age or under can do like 10 times better than I can lol.

I really enjoy pursuing art and animation as a hobby/career, and I find Newgrounds to be the perfect place to express these aspirations, so I hope you’ll tune in for what I post here in the near future!

Oh and I also have a YouTube channel where I upload these animations along with other types of content, so I highly encourage you to subscribe to that if you haven’t already. SocialBlade is saying it’ll take me 5 years to reach 1k so please help me prove them wrong

So yeah, that’s my introduction. To those who followed me from the sketch collab, I hope you enjoy your stay! Always looking forward to making at least some form of impact in this large animation community, let alone making a ton of friends along the way.
